Check your children! Viral report claims youths are selling kidneys for money

A viral report has raised concerns over an alleged illegal kidney trade involving young people living in Nyanya, Mararaba, Karu and surrounding communities.

The report claimed that many youths in the affected areas had allegedly sold one of their kidneys in exchange for money, with an alleged agent said to be operating in Mararaba.

Residents with relatives living in the affected communities were urged to verify the claims and warn those who may be considering selling an organ for financial reasons.

However, the claim that “almost all” young people in the affected areas have sold a kidney has not been independently verified, and there is no evidence provided in the report to support the alleged police confirmation.

The viral post also urged members of the public to share the information to prevent people from falling victim to any alleged organ-buying scheme.
